The castle has had many owners and its current design is attributable to the Drašković counts who completely renovated the castle in the 19th century. Castle sightseeing tour and walk in the park and forest near the lake below the castle. Return to Zagreb in the late afternoon hours. Ride to Samobor, a picturesque town 25 km away from Zagreb. Upon arrival you can get to know historical heritage, beautiful landscape and local people. Green landscape is a sight for sore eyes and unpolluted countryside is a blessing for the body. We will start our walking tour from the town centre – King Tomislav’s Square. Then we will visit the most important and most famous landmarks. We will dedicate special time to old handicrafts with centuries-long tradition which is why Samobor is not only known as a tourist destination, but also as a city of craftsmen. Following the great fire of 1797 which destroyed half the houses in the town, the 19th century was marked by intensive construction works. Since the original street layout remained unaltered, baroque contours of the town were enriched by many houses built along the existent roads. This process of urban development of town streets and quarters has resulted in an ambience of exceptional value. The most beautiful example is the very centre of Samobor. Following our walk, we will have a cup of coffee and you will be able to taste the famous local custard slice, the so-called kremšnite.
